I have limited evidence to support this theory but I’d argue a WiFi password can tell you a lot about a place before settling in. Take “cheesecake”, for example. Short and simple, lightly humorous. A smile forms on my face as I type it into my phone and the young, cheerful, almost-too-cute hostel staff greets me and offers me a complimentary drink. If your password is “freewifi”, I thank you for making it easy to remember even though I predict that your internet signal will be weak and available only in the lobby. And if you are a monster who keeps “@PLDTWIFIhp8888” as their password, I know not to ask you any questions and, given the sour look on your face, I’ll also do my best to type it correctly the first time so that I don’t have to annoy you any further by asking you to repeat it again and again.
